Who we are

We are a small group of travel writers, guides and former hotel staff who got tired of listicles that never mention the ferry timetable. Scottie Berndt started in 2026 as a shared notebook of practical trip notes. Today it reaches thousands of monthly readers who want honest advice on where to stay, when to go and what a trip really costs.

Our mission

Our mission is simple: explain the trade-offs before you book. Every week we publish free guides on Island Escape, Mountain Retreat, Heritage Tourism, Scenic Getaway and Eco Tourism, with real costs, realistic timings and the details that only show up after arrival. We would rather tell you what is difficult than sell you a dream.

Editorial standards

No sponsored rankings, no pay-to-play lists. We visit or research every destination we cover, disclose relationships, and correct mistakes in public. Prices and timetables change, so we date our guides and say when a detail needs checking. If a place disappoints in real use, we say so.
