A Look at the Beautiful Culture of American Society

Introduction

The U.S. is a nation of many cultures. The first Europeans to settle here were English people who brought with them their language and religion. However, over time many other peoples have come here from all over the world bringing their own customs and traditions with them. Today there are more than 300 million people living in this country who call it home; each one has his or her own unique background which contributes to shaping American culture into what it is today.

Understanding the American Culture

Understanding American society and culture can be a daunting task. The United States is a melting pot of different cultures, religions and beliefs–and it’s not just the immigrants who bring these unique perspectives to America. Native Americans have been living on this land for thousands of years before Europeans arrived here in the 16th century.

With so many different ideas about how things should be done, it’s no wonder that there are so many differences in opinion among Americans! But one thing all Americans share is freedom of religion–it’s guaranteed by our Constitution!

The culture of the United States is mostly a Western culture

The culture of the United States is mostly a Western culture, but it is also influenced by Native American, West African and European ism. The North American continent has been settled by people of different cultures for thousands of years. In addition, the American Indian population has lived here for more than 12,000 years.

The United States has been shaped by its geography as well as by its social and political institutions. Its economy was developed based on agriculture (growing crops), mining and manufacturing industries; later it became an industrialized nation with great industries such as automobiles or airplanes manufacturing plants in Detroit (Michigan) or Boeing in Seattle (Washington).

Today, there are many different ethnic groups living in this country. These include African Americans and Hispanic Americans who comprise more than 30{a6d4e250f4dbd7c38290d51a301669b0b15c2bd58d8474132f85a8137f152abc} of the total population. Asian Americans are also an important group in this country with more than 5{a6d4e250f4dbd7c38290d51a301669b0b15c2bd58d8474132f85a8137f152abc} of the total population.

African American is a term used to describe people who were brought to the United States from Africa as slaves. They are estimated at about 40 million today (about 13{a6d4e250f4dbd7c38290d51a301669b0b15c2bd58d8474132f85a8137f152abc} of all U.S citizens). About half live in cities while another quarter live in suburban areas; only 15{a6d4e250f4dbd7c38290d51a301669b0b15c2bd58d8474132f85a8137f152abc} reside on farms and ranches outside towns or cities.[7] African Americans are disproportionately affected by poverty compared with other racial groups.[8]

Religious Diversity in America

America is a land of religious diversity. Many different religions are represented here, including Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. In fact, one third of Americans identify as having no religious affiliation at all! This is far more than any other country in the world (except for China).

The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion for everyone who lives in America or visits here–you can practice any faith you like without interference from the government or others around you. This was written into our founding document when it was first ratified by Congress in 1787: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…or prohibiting free exercise thereof…”

Religious diversity is another characteristic of American society.

This country was founded on Christian principles; however, today there are many different religions represented here including Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism. Religious freedom was guaranteed in the Constitution when it was written in 1787. This means that no one religion can be forced upon anyone else living here or visiting this nation’s shores. It also protects people who want to practice their own faith without interference from others or government officials who might try to restrict their right to worship freely.
